Birthday Letter to my big girls on #10!!

The night before you were born I waited, not so patiently, in a hospital room with your dad and the sound of your heartbeats on the monitor. I was young, only 22 and I was so unaware of just how much things were about to change. I had prepared myself for the worst, but hoped for the best and I was scared to death. I got to meet you the next day, September 5th at 12:43pm. I held my breath until I heard Kenna cry, then again for Avery. I only got to see you for a second, but love at first sight only takes that long. Since that day, things haven't been the same. All those days when you were little that I didn't even get to shower, going out with spit up stains on my shirt, not sleeping.....EVER, going out of my mind with worry, and putting every last ounce of my energy into being a mom you would be proud of has all been worth it.

I was hoping it would take longer for you to grow up, but ten years isn't really that long at all. Some days it feels as though you were babies yesterday, but other days it feels like I've been your mom forever. Like there was nothing before you. Look at you today, the night before you turn ten years old! A decade has gone by. Trust me, you have made history in my book! Beautiful, smart, caring, funny, loving, generous, faithful, loyal, kind, talented, brave and SO much more. You have become exactly who I had hoped you would....YOU! I thank God everyday that we have each other if for no other reason, because none of us could handle Maizy alone! LOL!!! Happy Birthday beautiful girls! Love, Mom
